Weight Loss Treatments
Expert Weight Loss Support, Close to Home
Losing weight is hard. If you’ve tried diets and exercise and haven’t seen the results you expected, prescription weight loss injections could be the next step.
At HealthPoint Pharmacy, we prescribe Mounjaro, Wegovy and Saxenda - three clinically proven treatments that help your body manage appetite and reduce weight. These aren’t fads. They’re medicines backed by large-scale clinical trials and prescribed by qualified pharmacists.
You don’t need a GP referral. You don’t need to explain your history to a receptionist. You book a private consultation with one of our pharmacists, we assess your eligibility, and if you’re a suitable candidate, we can start you on a treatment plan that same day.
Everything is confidential. We see patients at both our Malvern and Bewdley locations.
Am I Eligible?
Could Weight Loss Injections Work for You? These treatments are suitable for adults (18+) who meet certain criteria:
- You're 18 or over
- Your BMI is 30 or above, or
- Your BMI is 27 or above with a weight-related condition
Important: These treatments are not suitable for everyone. If you're pregnant, breastfeeding, have a history of thyroid cancer, type 1 diabetes, or pancreatitis, these treatments won't be appropriate. Your pharmacist will go through all of this during the consultation.
Your BMI is 24.4
Good news - you may be eligible for treatment.
Based on your BMI, you meet the general criteria for weight loss injections. The next step is a quick consultation with one of our pharmacists to confirm suitability and discuss your options.
You may still be eligible - it depends on your overall health.
While your BMI is below the typical threshold, you may still qualify if you have a weight-related health condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or type 2 diabetes.

Treatment Comparison
Mounjaro (Tirzepatide)
The newest and most effective option currently available. Clinical trials showed average weight loss of up to 22.5% of body weight. Taken as a weekly injection. Works on two hormones (GIP and GLP-1) rather than one, which is why the results tend to be stronger.
Wegovy (Semaglutide)
A well-established treatment with strong clinical data behind it. Average weight loss of up to 15% of body weight in trials. Weekly injection. Works by mimicking the GLP-1 hormone that controls appetite.
Saxenda (Liraglutide)
A daily injection that’s been available the longest of the three. Average weight loss of up to 8% of body weight. A good option for patients who prefer a more gradual approach or who aren’t suited to the other two.

FAQ
Frequently Ask Questions
No. Our pharmacists can prescribe these treatments directly through Patient Group Directions (PGDs). Your GP doesn't need to be involved unless you'd like them to be.
Most patients start noticing changes within the first 4 to 6 weeks. Significant weight loss typically happens over 3 to 6 months as the dosage gradually increases.
The most common side effects are nausea, reduced appetite, and digestive discomfort. These are usually mild and tend to ease off as your body adjusts to the medication. Your pharmacist will talk you through what to expect.
In most cases, yes. But there are some interactions to be aware of, particularly with oral contraceptives and diabetes medication. Your pharmacist will review everything you're currently taking before prescribing.
That depends on your goals and how you respond. Some patients use the treatment for 6 to 12 months, others longer. Your pharmacist will help you plan this during your regular check-ins.
