Which Travel Vaccines Do I Need? A Complete Guide

You’ve booked the flights, sorted the hotel, maybe even bought a new suitcase. But have you thought about vaccinations?

Different countries carry different health risks, and the vaccines you need depend on where you’re going, how long you’re staying, and what you’ll be doing while you’re there. A week in an all-inclusive in Cancun is a very different conversation to three months backpacking through Southeast Asia.

The best way to get a clear answer is a travel health consultation. At HealthPoint Pharmacy, these are free. You bring your travel details, we tell you exactly what’s recommended.

The most commonly recommended travel vaccines include: Hepatitis A (most destinations outside Western Europe), Hepatitis B (longer trips), Typhoid (South/Southeast Asia, Africa, Central/South America), Rabies (rural Asia and Africa), Yellow Fever (parts of Africa and South America – certificate required for entry), Japanese Encephalitis (rural Southeast Asia), and Cholera (areas with poor sanitation).

Ideally, book your consultation 6-8 weeks before travel. But even 2 weeks out is worth it for single-dose vaccines.

Individual vaccines range from £40 to £130 per dose. Thailand: £340-£720 | India: £345-£545 | Kenya: £490-£690 | Mexico: £120-£465.

At HealthPoint Pharmacy, we carry 26 travel vaccines at both locations. Free consultations, same-week appointments, registered Yellow Fever Centre.
